Hell Game

I was talking to J about his current relationship.  It’s funny; he’s having the same issues that he’s had in the past with me, with his ex-wife, and now with his current girlfriend.  J’s a smart guy; he realizes that this can’t just be the women he’s picking, that in all probability, it is him that is the problem or a combination of the two.

The issue is “suffocation” for lack of a better term.  J likes to do his own thing.  J has a lot of things that he likes to occupy his time with.  The problem is, J doesn’t realize that after the requisite 3-4 months it takes to seal-the-deal with someone and make everything official-like, he switches gears on the girl and goes from wanting to spend every other night with the girl to making her 5 or 6^th on the list of things “to do”[snort]

I’ve talked about this before; this isn’t strictly a male trick.  The old switch-a-roo can be pulled by a woman; whether it’s acting like a nympho then turning off the taps after a few months or playing career girl then quitting your job to keep his house.

It’s nice to see a man actually admit / be aware of this too.  I’m sure his current girlfriend who is desperately clinging to him, texting, calling, and showing up at his place doesn’t think so, but then again, this ceased to be my problem about 11 years ago.  So now I get to sit back and tell him everything he’s doing wrong.
